Len Michaels has over 37 years experience
in the maritime industry and brings unparalleled knowledge
of both marine engineering and industry dynamics. In his
current role as Shearforce Principal he has completed several
major ship modifications and has appeared for and advised
in various legal matters.
Len has worked in various roles throughout his career,
including 10 years with a leading ship classification society as Principal Surveyor,
responsible for the operational management and technical
performance of all Marine activity in Australia, New Zealand
and near Pacific Islands.
His other work experience includes roles with:
Len is a Chartered Engineer and holds a Masters in Engineering
Science, Mechanical Engineering from the University of
NSW. He also attained the Extra First Class and First
Class Certificates of competency Steamships and Motor
ships, issued by UK Dept of Trade. Len is a Fellow of
The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.
