Shearforce Maritime Services recently completed the design
and superintendency for the lengthening of a landing craft/container
ship to 65m. The new section measured 12.5m and was inserted
in the vessel amidships.
During the project, the vessel was dry-docked, propeller
shafts removed and full renewal surveys carried out. This
enabled our client to increase the amount of containers
they can carry by 20, providing significant expansion
opportunities.
Delivering the right results
We delivered the project on time, minimising disruption
to shipping movements and ensuring the vessel had as little
down time as possible.
Shearforce Maritime Services also designed recently a
series of three 67m-deck ships to operate primarily as
container vessels within the South Pacific Region. We
leveraged our knowledge of the service and the dynamics
of the region to create cost efficient, workable and focused
designs and recommendations.
